White Correa

A$1,180.00

White Correa is part of my Sandbelt series, showing at Glen Eira City Gallery from 24 July - 24 August. The Sandbelt vessels feature the flora of the Sandbelt region in south-east Narrm/Melbourne (Boonwurrung Country). I walked over 100 kilometres on a series of urban hikes, visiting areas of remnant vegetation across the region.

Due to its large size, White Correa is only available for local pick-up.

White Correa (Correa alba) is a beautiful, robust plant that thrives in exposed coastal sites, where it grows like immaculately maintained topiary. I love it for its round grey leaves and starry flowers.

This large bowl is coil-built in white clay. The surface is painted with multiple layers of underglaze and carved to create the botanical design. It is clear-glazed inside and outside.

Dimensions: H 20 x W 38 x D 39 cm
