Coastal Tea Tree Bowl
This small bowl features Coastal Tea Tree (Leptospermum laevigatum).
The bowl is built of grainy white clay. The surface is painted with underglaze and carved to create the botanical design. A glossy clear glaze is applied to the flowers only, leaving the leaves and background matte. The inside has a satin aqua-green glaze.
The bowl can be used for decorative or functional purposes. It is food safe and dishwasher safe, although handwashing is recommended to preserve the surface over time. It is the size of a small, deep noodle bowl — my favourite size and shape for an individual meal.
