Darwin Stringybark
Darwin Stringybark is part of my Red Earth series, depicting plants of Australia’s Northern Territory. I encountered these plants while walking the Larapinta and Jatbula trails.
Darwin Stringybark (Eucalyptus tetrodonta) grows in the open forests of the the Jatbula Trail.
The medium vase is made from smooth red clay, painted with underglaze, and carved to create the botanical design. A clear glaze is applied to the inside and to the plant only, leaving the red clay background bare.
Dimensions: H 22 x W 12 cm
