Silver Indigo

A$260.00

Silver Indigo is part of my Red Earth series, depicting plants of Australia’s Northern Territory. I encountered these plants while walking the Larapinta and Jatbula trails.

Silver Indigo (Indigofera leucotricha), with its small white leaves and hot pink flowers, was one of my favourite plants on the grassy plains of the Larapinta Trail.

The vase is built in smooth red clay, painted with underglaze and carved to create the botanical design. A clear glaze is applied inside and outside. The glaze gives the clay a darker tone that contrasts with the colourful plant.

Dimensions: H 9 x W 9 cm
