This large vase features the Leatherwood tree (Eucryphia lucida) from Tasmania.
It is coil-built in smooth creamy clay, painted with multiple shades of underglaze and copper slip and carved to create the botanical design. It is glazed inside and on the leaves and flowers only, leaving the clay background bare.
