Black Wattle
This small vase features Black Wattle, a tree from my local area in the Sandbelt region of south-east Narrm/Melbourne.
The vase is coil-built in smooth white clay. The surface is painted with multiple shades of underglaze and carved to create the botanical design. A clear glaze is applied to the inside and to the plant only, leaving the background matte.
